EUMETSAT, Europe’s operational satellite agency for monitoring weather and climate from space.
The Strategy, Communication and International Relations Division is seeking an intern to contribute to EUMETSAT’s communication activities.
The main focus of the internship project will be threefold:
- Support EUMETSAT’s communication activities for satellite launches in 2026 (MTG-I2, Metop-SG and Copernicus Sentinel-3);
- Support EUMETSAT’s communication activities related to the 40th anniversary of the organisation that will span across the entire year;
- Support both the logistical aspect, as well as the editorial content production on several platforms (website, social media, print).
EUMETSAT needs to produce lively and engaging content to continue to grow our audience on social media channels such as X, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, but also more globally via our website. This is particularly important in the run up to the launch of new satellites when there is a need to communicate the benefits of Earth observation satellites and EUMETSAT activities to as large an audience as possible.
In parallel, EUMETSAT will be celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026. This celebration will be a good occasion to look back on achievements and challenges and to broaden our reach to audiences not only interested in satellites, but also on climate-related issues.
With this in mind, this internship will be an exciting opportunity to be part of fast-paced campaigns where the intern will work on several platforms and with many colleagues within the communication team to communicate the value of weather, climate and environmental monitoring satellites.
Another important aspect of the internship will be the opportunity to develop visual content, including images and video.
